Zachariah Alexander Kramer

Zachariah Alexander Kramer was born at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide on Monday the 9th of April at 8.55pm. His parents asked me to photograph his entrance into the world which was both an honour and an extreme privilege… He is a very special bub in more ways than one – he has a congenital heart defect called Transposition of the Great Arteries – or a hole in his heart, which his parents were informed about at his 20 week scan. He has already undergone the first procedure called a Balloon Septostomy to help open his heart valves temporarily – he will go to Melbourne soon for an operation to permanently correct the defect.

You can find out more about CHD and TGA at the HeartKids website – you can also donate to help get these kids the operations they need 🙂
